We have an old out of sight mole trap my father gave us. Last year we did not have to use it, because my husband flooded the tunnel at the perfect moment when the little guy was passing thru. He jumped out and my hubby kicked him.
This year we have one very active mole who is moving around our roses and side of the house. It is hard to make out tunnels in the dirt. We tried the trap. We are such novices, that we put the trap at the end of the tunnel in a mound. So far we have succeeded in trapping a lot of dirt. :) I saw another site that showed how to set the trap in the middle of the tunnel. But he used a tin can lid under the trip bar. Not explaining why. Of course, we caught more dirt. I smoothed off the yard (carefull not to crush any tunnels) and hopefully we will be able to use fresh mounds to determine his path. We hope to be done with him this weekend.
