The Thirteenth Season (2010)

Early in the season and the foliage of the heuchera, tiarella and other woodland plants is just emerging in fresh colors of  spring green, red and gold.

Blue forget-me-nots and pink and white bleeding heart cover the ground around the rustic metal bench.

I installed the Bubbling Rock into the Butterfly/Hummingbird Garden. The Bubbling Rock not only supplies water to the birds, but the surrounding water-splashed river rocks supply moisture to the butterflies.

A tall Hopi Red Dye Amaranth popped up right in the middle of my cutting garden.

I have expanded the fragance garden and planted more garden phlox, annual phlox, four o'clocks, datura, heliotrope, gold wallflowers, sweet alyssum and many other fragrant plants.

A beautiful autumn day in the gardens.
