The Tenth Season (2007)

Late June and the rose campion (left) and annual poppies are blooming brightly. In the back is the rose garden with the new Easy Elegance landscape roses 'Little Mischief' and 'Sunrise Sunset' blooming in front.

I repainted my rocking chairs (top) to match the purple of the Verbena bonariensis (foreground).  Also growing in the cutting garden are zinnias and orange Mexican sunflower (Tithonia). The Tithonia was a big favorite of the hummingbirds and I will definitely be planting it again next year.

Early morning sun streaming through the trees onto the new bog garden.
(See my canvas artwork with another view of this scene.)

Another view of the bog garden on the left. Some of the moisture-loving plants that live happily there are ligularias, astilbes, aruncus, yellow waxbells (Kirengeshoma palmate) and great blue lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica).

The Johnny jump-ups have escaped from the kitchen garden and are running amuck in the pea-rock pathway.  I don't have the heart to pull them out when they are blooming so nicely.

The Annabelle hydrangeas make a nice background in the partial shade part of my perennial bed.  Blooming around the hydrangeas are aruncus (bottom right), anthemis (left, yellow) and red clematis growing on the obelisk on the left.
