The United States Botanic Garden is located within walking distance of the
Capital Building, Library of Congress and other D.C. must-sees and admission is free-of-charge.
The Conservatory is the main focus of the USBG, but the outside gardens are a
wonderful place to relax after a long day sight-seeing. Across the street
is Bartholdi Park which features a fountain designed by Frederic Auguste
Bartholdi, the sculptor who designed the Statue of Liberty. The fountain
was closed when we were there, but should reopen in 2011. For directions and more information on the
U.S. Botanic Garden, please see their website at
www.usbg.gov.
