The Ninth Season (2006)

Turn your favorite digital photo of your gardens into a beautiful canvas work of art!

Early June and the 'Snow Beauty' (white shrub rose in back left) and 'William Baffin' (pink on arbor) are in full bloom.

The right side of the perennial bed. I love the feathery texture of the yellow-green foliage of the Coreopsis 'Zagreb' behind the purple Salvia 'May Night' .

My front yard garden is planted in chartreuse and blue and includes catmint and 'Golden Nugget' barberry (edging),  little bluestem grass (middle), Stella d'Oro daylily (back), 'Montgomery' dwarf blue spruce (corner of house), and the new chartreuse smokebush 'Golden Spirit' under the far right window. By the end of the season, the smokebush had grown to about 12 feet tall.

Early July and the self-seeding flowers are blooming in a rainbow of colors.  There are yellow calendula, lavender Ageratum 'Leilani,' pink and purple annual clary sage, white Shasta daisies, pink Shirley poppies, yellow gloriosa daisies and red annual phlox and amaranth.

The red Asiatic lilies 'Stones,' golden marguerite and white hollyhocks make a nice combination in mid-July.

October and the garden has totally changed. It is hard to believe that the garden in the photo above this one is the same one as the garden on the left.  The Verbena bonariensis (purple) has pretty much taken over except for the towering red amaranth that is holding its own in front.
