Ergonomic Garden Tools

Why punish your body?  These products will help you garden healthier and longer.

Pot Lifter

Save your back!  When it's time to move large planters, potted shrubs, trees, or even rocks, use this ingenious hauling device to do the job and protect your back from injury. Just place the self-cinching straps around most any object up to 6 feet in circumference, grab the textured handles, and two people can easily lift up to 200 pounds without stooping or straining.   Gardeners Supply

Hula Hoe

An ordinary flat hoe is good for moving and smoothing soil. For weeding, though, the Hula Hoe (also called a stirrup or scuffle hoe) is a far better tool for the job. The sharp steel blade skims horizontally below the soil surface, slicing through weed roots while leaving the soil in place. The blade is designed to have a little play in it — the famous "hula wiggle" — so that it cuts at the correct angle on both backward and forward strokes.Heat-treated, self-sharpening steel head; 4" opening 50" L wooden handle 57-1/2" L inches overall  Gardeners Supply.

Garden Kneeler

One of the first things to go on a gardener is our knees! Do yourself a favor and start using a kneeler or kneepads before you have problems.  With the ingenious kneeler above, you can use your arm strength to lower yourself for weeding or planting, and then push yourself up again without straining knees or back. Flip the kneeler over and it becomes a convenient bench. It also folds flat for easy storage.  Need a bigger seat?  The new Deep-Seat Garden Kneeler has all the same great features as the original model with a seat that’s 30% deeper front to back for added comfort and more support. Poly-Tough Garden Cart

Save your back!  Thanks to its center-mounted wheels, this rugged wheelbarrow is stable and easy to maneuver, even when hauling loads up to 300 lbs. Its unique design allows the front to tip all the way to the ground while the wheels stay put – that means you can scoop heavy stones or logs into the cart instead of lifting them. The polyethylene "tub" is great for mixing wet soil or cement, will never rust, and rinses clean in a jiffy.

  • Big, 20" semi-pneumatic wheels roll easily over uneven ground.
  • Steel frame supports 300 lbs – weighs just 30 lbs!
  • Capacity is 6 cubic feet

The cutting head also rotates 240 degrees so you can prune at the angle easiest for you. The PowerStroke™ cutting mechanism is ropeless, so there’s nothing to get caught among the branches.
