| Okay, I love this container planting because I made the container. How cool is that? I realize that it isn't perfect, but I am not artistic at all so I am very proud of this effort. I took a mosaics class from Riana de Raad in Beldenville, Wisconsin with people from the Twin Cities, Chicago and all over the Midwest. Riana has perfected mosaics and concrete sculpture into an art form that you can leave outside all year long even in the coldest parts of the country. For more information and photos of Riana's incredible garden sculptures, go to www.springvalleyroses.com/riana/index.html or www.concretemosaicsculpture.com. The plants that I have included in my mosaic container are 'Magilla Perilla' in the back, and 'Dragon Wings' Begonia front right with the purple and silver Rex Begonia 'Benitochiba' tucked in on the left. There is also a fuschia in there somewhere, but it got eaten up by the perilla. A wonderful combination of colors and textures for your shade container, and I love the way the plants pick up the colors of my mosaic container! |
