The Rose Tree of China

(Prunus triloba var. multiplex)
Also known as Flowering Almond or Double-Flowering Plum

A photo of my friend Audrey's Minnesota Rose Tree of China.

A close-up of the beautiful double flowers of the Rose Tree of China.

Growing to a height of 10 to 15 feet tall, the Rose Tree of China is reliably hardy into zones 3 and 4; however, it is not always "bud hardy" and will definitely bloom much more prolifically after a mild winter. It likes a sunny location and a well drained soil, and should be pruned regularly for best flowering performance.
